Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Learners are expected to hold a recognised secondary school qualification or equivalent.

  • Mature applicants without formal qualifications may be considered on the basis of relevant work experience and their ability to meet the demands of the programme.

English Language Requirements

Learners must demonstrate English language proficiency sufficient to successfully engage with programme materials, participate in learning activities, and complete assessments. This may be evidenced through prior education completed in English or through a recognised English language qualification.

For learners whose first language is not English, an IELTS 5.5 (overall) or above  is normally accepted for entry to the diploma.

  • Duolingo English Test: 95

  • TOEFL iBT: 46

Course Units

  • This unit explores the role of accounting within organisations, examining how financial information supports operational and strategic decision-making. Learners understand how accounting functions contribute to business performance and accountability.

  • Learners are introduced to key microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, including supply and demand, market structures, inflation, and fiscal policy. The unit develops analytical skills to assess how economic factors influence business environments.

  • This unit develops quantitative skills required in finance and accounting, including financial calculations, ratio analysis, forecasting, and data interpretation. It strengthens learners’ ability to analyse and evaluate financial information accurately.

  • Financial Accounting focuses on preparing and interpreting financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Learners gain knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.

  • This unit examines internal financial processes used for planning and control, including budgeting, cost analysis, and performance measurement. Learners develop the ability to support managerial decision-making through financial insights.

  • Learners explore leadership principles, team management, and organisational behaviour within financial environments. The unit emphasises professional responsibility and effective management within accounting functions.

  • This unit focuses on investment appraisal, working capital management, risk analysis, and financial decision-making. Learners examine strategies for maximising organisational value and financial sustainability.

  • Learners develop skills in financial forecasting, budgeting systems, and internal control mechanisms. The unit highlights the importance of monitoring financial performance and ensuring organisational efficiency.

  • This unit builds advanced knowledge of financial reporting frameworks, disclosure requirements, and regulatory compliance. Learners analyse complex financial statements and evaluate reporting standards.

  • Learners explore the fundamentals of taxation, including income tax, corporate tax, and VAT principles. The unit develops understanding of tax planning, compliance, and the legal responsibilities of organisations and individuals.

  • This unit examines human resource management, motivation, performance management, and team leadership within business settings. Learners understand how effective people management supports organisational success.

  • Learners explore ethical decision-making, corporate governance, and social responsibility in business and finance. The unit emphasises integrity, transparency, and sustainable business practices in professional environments.
