Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Learners are expected to hold a bachelor's degree qualification or equivalent.

  • Mature applicants with a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience may be considered on the basis of relevant work experience and their ability to meet the demands of the programme.

English Language Requirements

Learners must demonstrate English language proficiency sufficient to successfully engage with programme materials, participate in learning activities, and complete assessments. This may be evidenced through prior education completed in English or through a recognised English language qualification.

For learners whose first language is not English, an IELTS 6.0 (overall) or above  is normally accepted for entry to the diploma.

 

Equivalent English language proficiency may include:

  • PTE Academic: 50

  • Duolingo English Test: 100

  • TOEFL iBT: 60

  • Learners develop expertise in workforce planning, performance management, supervision, and staff development. The unit focuses on motivating teams, managing conflict, and ensuring effective collaboration within diverse care settings.

  • This unit examines financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation within health and social care organisations. Learners analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making and ensure sustainable service provision.

  • Learners explore the development and implementation of health and social care policies at local and national levels. The unit evaluates regulatory frameworks, public health strategies, and the impact of policy on service quality and patient outcomes.

  • This unit focuses on managing organisational change in response to evolving healthcare demands. Learners examine change management models, stakeholder engagement, innovation strategies, and continuous improvement approaches.

  • Learners develop advanced research skills, including research design, data collection, critical analysis, and ethical considerations. The unit prepares professionals to evaluate evidence-based practice and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
